The Emergency Preparedness modules are designed to be the basis for some of the supplies that may be needed to have available when an emergency or disaster happens. While the materials included in the modules are a good start, you should also customize your kit based on your own personal needs. 1.Water (red)

• Water Kit Contents:
  • Over 16 oz emergency drinking water
  • 1 - modular bag

Water is essential during an emergency. Your Emergency Preparedness Modular Kit is equipped with over 16 ounces of water. In addition to this supply, the American Red Cross recommends you have at least one gallon of water a day per person, for drinking and sanitary use.

2. Food (orange)

• Food Kit contents:
  • 1 - 2400 calorie food bar
  • 1 - modular bag

The American Red Cross recommends a minimum of 1600 calories per day per adult during times of disaster or emergencies. Add to this foods that you enjoy and require no refrigeration, preparation or cooking and little or no water.

3. First Aid (Yellow)

4. Alert (green)

• Alert Kit contents:

  • 1 - flashlight w.batteries (not installed)

  • 1 - whistle with neck cord

The alert module contains basic items to help you see and be seen. These useful items can help you communicate the need for help by using the whistle, light and banner to attract attention.

5. Shelter/Weather (blue)

• Shelter/Weather Kit contains:
  • 1 - rain poncho
  • 1 - emergency blanket 38"x60"
  • 4 - hand warmers
  • 1 - modular bag

The Shelter/Weather kit contains key items to stay dry and warm during an emergency. It is important to reduce your exposure to wet and/or cold weather, and to remain comfortable during an emergency as help may be delayed if the effect of the disaster is widespread.
